3/ Menopause
a/ Hormone levels (£87)
Female hormone levels (FSH and LH) and Thyroid function test (TSH).
b/ Osteoporosis profile (£125)
This measure the total and bone alkaline phosphatase and acid phosphatise level to assess the balance between bone formation and resorption; it also includes a measurement of urine and blood calcium and phosphorus levels, and tests of nutrients essential to bone metabolism: copper, manganese, vitamin C, zinc, magnesium. The urine hydroxyproline level is also checked.
c/ DEXA bone scan :
This scan assesses your bone density and can be arranged by us through the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for £128.
4/ Cancer
This module is developed according to your own risks and concerns. Tests may include nutritional or environmental tests which look at your general risks and relevant nutrition such as: DNA adducts (nothing should be adhering to your DNA, and many specialists now consider any such adducts to be pre-cancerous lesions), Cell free DNA (Most DNA in the plasma is associated with cell degradation; Increases are associated with serious illnesses such as cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune disease, stroke and severe infections) and Anti-oxidant profile (the nutrients which mop up free radicals and are vital in preventing cancers).
We can also arrange tests of specific risks such as: prostate (PSA test), bowel (faecal occult blood), lungs (Chest XRay), breast (mammogram at a local private hospital) for example.
